Italian PM Conte says EU leaders still deadlocked on stimulus plan

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said European Union leaders remained deadlocked after two days of talks on their next budget and a proposed economic recovery plan from the coronavirus pandemic.

With the deal proving elusive, the EU summit overran and Conte, whose country is among those affected the hardest by the crisis in Europe, said it was crucial that the 27 bloc’s heads seal a deal on Sunday. [L8N2EP06A]
