BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The chair of the Eurogroup of euro zone finance ministers said on Thursday that Italy’s new finance minister offered reassurances on Rome’s commitment to respect European Union fiscal rules.

“What we heard from minister (Giovanni) Tria in the last Eurogroup meeting was quite reassuring vis-à-vis the commitments of the Italian government,” Mario Centeno said after a monthly meeting of euro zone finance ministers in Brussels.
