German Transport Minister opposes DFS privatisation

BERLIN (Reuters) - German Transport Minister Peter Ramsauer said he opposed the privatisation of Germany’s air traffic authority Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS).

In an advance copy of comments to appear in Tagespiegel newspaper on Monday, Ramsauer, a member of the conservative CSU party, said he did not consider himself an advocate of privatisation for DFS or national rail operator Deutsche Bahn.

“I am not one of the big privatisation advocates — that applies to DFS just as it does for Deutsche Bahn,” he said.
