Philippines records 3,311 new coronavirus cases, 55 deaths

MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippines reported 3,311 newly-confirmed coronavirus cases and 55 more deaths on Sunday.

In a bulletin, the health ministry said the Southeast Asian country’s confirmed infections had swelled to 286,743, still the highest in the region, while its death toll had climbed to 4,984.

The Philippines had recorded 229,865 recoveries so far, it said.
