Revocation of Atlantia's motorway concession unlikely - PD Senate chief

ROME (Reuters) - Andrea Marcucci, leader of the co-ruling Italian Democratic Party senators, said on Wednesday that he considered unlikely the revocation of Atlantia’s motorway concession.

“In theory it cannot be ruled out, but I don’t think the conditions are there and this is becoming clearer to everyone,” Marcucci said speaking to foreign journalists.

“It is very complicated from a legal view point,” he added.

The PD is backing a new executive with the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement, which blamed Atlantia for the deadly collapse of a motorway bridge in Genoa last year and has vowed to revoke Atlantia’s concession.

The new government’s programme mentions a “revision” of the concession.
