ROME (Reuters) - Italy Economy Minister Giovanni Tria said on Friday he was satisfied with a framework for the 2019 budget that he agreed with cabinet colleagues earlier in the day.

The meeting of top ministers, including Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, came as financial markets sold Italian bonds due to concerns over divisions within the government and fears about its promises of tax cuts and higher spending.

“Minister Tria expresses his satisfaction with the agreement on the outlines of the proposed policy framework, which confirms the compatibility of budgetary objectives already laid out in parliament and the start of the reforms contained in the government programme in terms of the flat tax and citizenship income,” the economy ministry said in a statement.
