Italy's recession is self-inflicted - ECB's Angeloni

ROME (Reuters) - The recession the Italian economy has slipped into is self-inflicted and a consequence of the government’s economic policy choices, a European Central Bank senior supervisor said on Wednesday.

Ignazio Angeloni told an event in Rome that rising bond yields in Italy were leading to tighter credit conditions and added that the economy would benefit from a drop in debt costs.
