Japan PM Abe - BOJ's ETF purchases part of 'appropriate' policy

TOKYO (Reuters) - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Monday the Bank of Japan was buying exchange-traded funds (ETF) as part of efforts to achieve its 2 percent inflation goal and called its monetary policy “appropriate”.

Abe, speaking in parliament, said he had confidence in BOJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda’s ability to guide monetary policy.
