MATSUMOTO, Japan (Reuters) - Bank of Japan board member Takako Masai said on Thursday the central bank needed to examine more than ever the impact of its quantitative easing and any possible side effects.

The central bank needs to carefully check what impact its easing has on bond market liquidity, Masai told reporters in Matsumoto, central Japan, after giving a speech to local business leaders.

She also said that uncertainty was increasing due to the U.S. government’s protectionist trade policies.
