Malaysia's February factory output seen rising 3.4 percent year-on-year - Reuters poll

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Malaysia’s industrial production in February likely rose 3.4 percent from a year ago, slightly faster than the previous month, a Reuters poll showed.

Growth estimates from 10 economists, however, ranged widely between 1.5 percent and 5.2 percent.

Factory output had risen 3 percent in January from a year earlier, sharply below expectations, as growth slowed in the manufacturing sector.

Malaysia’s exports fell for the first time in 18 months in February, hit by the effects of shorter working days during the Lunar New Year break.
