Syrian ambassador - Idlib deal is test for Turkey: TV interview

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syria’s ambassador to Lebanon said on Tuesday that a Russian-Turkish deal to create a buffer zone in rebel-held Idlib would be a test of Ankara’s ability to meet commitments.

“I see it as a test of the extent of Turkey’s ability to implement this decision,” Ali Abdul Karim said in an interview with Lebanon’s al-Jadeed TV. “They are under pressure now and I believe they will try.”
