Kremlin critic Navalny confirms Merkel visited him in hospital

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny confirmed on Monday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited him in hospital while he was undergoing treatment for poisoning in a Berlin hospital.

The fierce opponent of President Vladimir Putin said on Twitter that there was nothing secret about the meeting and he thanked Merkel for coming to see him.
