China says U.S. violated its sovereignty in South China Sea

BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Wednesday that the United States had violated its sovereignty and security, after a U.S. Navy destroyer sailed near islands that Beijing claims in the South China Sea.

China firmly opposes the U.S. move, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on its microblog.
