MADRID (Reuters) - Spain’s Supreme Court on Friday ordered five more Catalan separatist leaders, including the latest candidate to become regional president Jordi Turull, to be jailed pending their trial for a crime of rebellion.

Twenty-five Catalan leaders will be tried for rebellion, embezzlement or disobeying the state, the court ruled earlier on Friday, in a sharp escalation of legal action against separatists in the northeastern region.
