BHP removing offshore workers from two Gulf of Mexico platforms ahead of storm

HOUSTON (Reuters) - BHP Billiton on Tuesday said it began evacuating workers and reducing operations at two offshore platforms in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico as a safety precaution ahead of an approaching storm.

It expects to complete the staff departures from its Neptune and Shenzi platforms by Wednesday afternoon, company spokeswoman Judy Dane said.
