Shell says reducing personnel ahead of storms in Gulf of Mexico

(Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc RDSa.L said on Friday they have begun reducing non-essential personnel on board some of its offshore assets ahead of tropical threats approaching the Gulf of Mexico.

There are currently no impacts to production, and work is underway to secure drilling operations, the company said.

Two storms are headed for the U.S. Gulf in a rare hurricane season event.
