Turkey's electoral board says preparations for early elections complete

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey’s High Electoral Board (YSK) has completed all preparations for early elections, slated for June 24 by President Tayyip Erdogan, and is waiting for parliament’s approval, the board’s chairman said.

Speaking to reporters, YSK Chairman Sadi Guven said the board would investigate eligibility conditions and determine which parties can take part in the elections in the coming days.

Turkey’s ruling AK Party and nationalist MHP will present a proposal for early elections to parliament later on Wednesday.
