China warns of countermeasures to U.S. actions against Chinese media

BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday that Beijing reserves the right to take measures in response to Washington’s decision to reduce the number of Chinese nationals permitted to work at U.S. offices of key official Chinese media outlets.

Foreign ministry official Zhao Lijian told reporters during a regular briefing that the U.S. decision essentially means some Chinese journalists will be expelled from the country and that Washington’s latest actions have caused serious negative impact on bilateral relations.
