Zimbabwe's ruling party endorses Mnangagwa as leader after Mugabe downfall

HARARE - Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU-PF endorsed President Emmerson Mnangagwa as party leader and presidential candidate in 2018 elections on Friday.

Mnangagwa, 75, was formally endorsed at a special congress in downtown Harare which also affirmed the expulsion from the party of former president Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace and close members of her G40 faction.
