KIEV, March 4 (Reuters) - A local Ukrainian court has ruled in favour of a suit by opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko to say that the government’s decision to raise gas prices was illegal, Interfax Ukraine reported on Monday.
Tymoshenko has made her opposition to the government’s decision to raise gas prices a central part of her campaign in the March 31 presidential election. The government’s spokesman did not respond to immediate request for comment. Tymoshenko’s party said in a statement that the verdict showed the gas price increase, which was introduced in May 2016, was unjustified.
