KIEV, July 1 (Reuters) - Ukrainian grain exports from sea ports fell sharply last week to 304,000 tonnes, from 772,000 tonnes a week earlier, preliminary data from the APK-Inform consultancy showed on Monday.
Corn exports plunged to 259,000 tonnes over June 22-28, from 689,000 tonnes in the previous week, while wheat shipments increased to 39,000 tonnes from 31,000 tonnes, the consultancy said.
It did not say why exports fell so much.
Most of Ukraine’s grain exports last week headed to Algeria, Britain and Germany.
The country exported almost 44.8 million tonnes of wheat, corn and barley in the marketing year that ran from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, APK-Inform said. That is up from 34.8 million tonnes in 2017/18. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk; Editing by Susan Fenton)
