Ukraine PM favours energy subsidies over price controls

KIEV, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Ukraine’s Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk told businesses on Friday his government would use subsidies rather than price controls in the energy sector.

That commitment chimes with the wishes of the International Monetary Fund, which wants Ukraine to deregulate household heating tariffs as part of a new loan programme that is being negotiated.
