Uruguay says consumer prices rose 0.77 pct in August

MONTEVIDEO, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Consumer prices in Uruguay rose 0.77 percent in August, bringing the country’s 12-month inflation rate to 5.45 percent, according to data released by the government on Tuesday.

That rate within the central bank’s target range for inflation between 3 percent to 7 percent in 2017. Prices have risen a cumulative 5.47 percent so far this year. (Reporting by Malena Castaldi; Writing by Luc Cohen and Bill Trott)
