ECB opens 24-billion-euro swap line with Danish central bank

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - The European Central Bank reopened on Thursday a swap line with its Danish counterpart and doubled the amount of euros it can lend to 24 billion euro to ensure Danish banks have access to the single currency.

“It will remain in place for as long as needed,” the ECB said in a statement. “The purpose of the reactivation is for Danmarks Nationalbank to provide euro liquidity to Danish financial institutions.”
