BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday said stronger than expected economic growth offered scope to expand government spending over the next four years, beyond the 46 billion euros in added funding already agreed by would-be coalition partners.

If additional funds do become available, Merkel said they should primarily go toward expanding digitalization, foreign policy, security and development aid.
