Panama Canal says recovers $847 million after tribunal ruling

PANAMA CITY (Reuters) - The Panama Canal Authority said in a statement on Monday that it had received $847 million which a tribunal had ordered a construction consortium to pay it back in a dispute over the waterway’s recent expansion.

The Miami-based tribunal’s ruling was directed at a group of companies including Spain’s Sacyr and Italy’s Salini Impregilo. The canal’s expansion was completed in 2016.
