LOS ANGELES (Reuters Life!) - Police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of computers, photographs and documents from director Steven Spielberg’s upcoming fourth “Indiana Jones” film.

The arrest took place on Tuesday during a sting operation in West Hollywood, according to Steve Whitmore, a spokesman from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

He said officers posing as potential buyers arrested the man on suspicion of receiving stolen property. The goods had been advertised for sale through emails sent out to entertainment-gossip Web sites.

“He is on what is known as parole hold,” Whitmore, who declined to release the man’s name, told The Hollywood Reporter. “We believe there’s more people involved and don’t want to release the name until this plays out.”

On September 24, the sheriff’s department was notified that some items had been taken from Spielberg’s production office on the Universal Pictures lot.

DreamWorks Pictures SKG, the studio co-founded by Spielberg, asked local law enforcement to investigate with Spielberg’s spokesman quoted as saying the director was concerned the thieves might try to sell the materials.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” the fourth movie in the adventure franchise, will be released next summer, 19 years after the last installment in the series.

Harrison Ford returns in the title role, joined by rising star Shia LaBeouf and Australian actress Cate Blanchett.
