Atlanta Fed raises U.S. first quarter GDP growth view to 0.5 percent

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. economy is growing at a 0.5 percent annualized rate in the first quarter, based on the latest monthly data on government spending, the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDPNow forecast model showed on Wednesday.

This was faster the 0.3 pace for the first-quarter gross domestic product that the Atlanta Fed’s GDP program calculated on Monday.
