U.S. sells 2-year notes to average demand

NEW YORK, Aug 27 (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury Department on Monday sold $36 billion worth of 2-year fixed-rate notes to average demand and at a yield of 2.655 percent, which was slightly below the yield at the prior 2-year auction in July, Treasury data showed.

The ratio of bids to the amount of 2-year supply offered was 2.89, down slightly from 2.92 the month before.
