US NRC renews licenses for Arizona nuclear plant

WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) - The U.S. nuclear safety regulator said on Thursday it has renewed the operating licenses for Arizona’s Palo Verde nuclear plant for an additional 20 years after more than two years of reviews.

There are no safety nor environmental concerns that would preclude renewal of the operating license for the plant, run by Arizona Public Service Co, a subsidiary of Pinnacle West (PNW.N), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said. (Reporting by Roberta Rampton)
