Vodafone Turkey sees higher growth, mobile penetration

ISTANBUL, Dec 16 (Reuters) - Vodafone’s (VOD.L) Turkish unit sees sales of 2.7 billion lira ($1.78 billion) in the financial year to end-March 2010, and expects the Turkish market to grow in 2010, chief executive Serpil Timuray told reporters late on Tuesday.

“We aim to increase our revenues in the coming term, and the economies of scale created by that will increase our profits,” she said.

She added competition between Turkey’s three mobile phone operators had kept sector growth low, but the market should improve in 2010 and prices should stabilise.
