Arabs open Saudi summit to endorse Mideast peace

RIYADH (Reuters) - Arab leaders officially began a two-day summit in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday that will relaunch an Arab initiative for peace with Israel.

The summit is part of a series of diplomatic moves to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and bring the 60-year-old Arab-Israeli conflict to an end.

The peace plan offers Israel normal ties with Arab states in return for full withdrawal from land it occupied in the 1967 Middle East war.
