Zurich Insurance looks to pare back HQ staff

ZURICH, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Zurich Insurance could cut its headcount in Switzerland as part of a process to streamline the finance department at its corporate centre, a spokesman said on Tuesday.

Swiss finance website finews.ch reported around 200 jobs could be eliminated but the spokesman said no figures had been announced internally and that was too early to say how many employees could be affected.

In November, Chief Executive Mario Greco upped the company’s cost-cutting goals, aiming to generate net savings of $1.5 billion by 2019 compared with 2015. (Reporting by Joshua Franklin; Editing by Michael Shields)
