Yara to sign mining agreement for Ethiopian Dallol potash mine

Nov 7 (Reuters) - Yara International Asa :Yara will sign a mining agreement with the Ethiopian.authorities, making possible the future development of the Yara Dallol potash mine..Dallol mine will have a production capacity of approximately 600,000 tonnes of SOP per year, equivalent to approximately ten per cent of global market​.‍Products will be mined using solution mining, meaning there will be no open pit at site​.‍Yara Dallol is a 51.8 per cent Yara International owned company​.‍Other owners are Liberty Metals and Mining Holdings (25 per cent) and XLR Capital (23.2 per cent)​.‍A final investment decision is expected towards end of 2018​.‍Total capital expenditure frame for project has yet to be finalized​.‍Amount has been reduced from previously estimated USD 740 million​.  Full Article

Yara International : Says following its Q4 results presentation (on Thursday), Yara has reviewed its earnings per share guidance linked to (cost-cutting) program, and has revised this to NOK 10 per share incremental earnings by 2020 .On Thursday, Yara had guided for NOK 7 per share of incremental earnings by 2020 related to the improvement program.  Full Article

Norway's Yara buys Tata Chemicals' urea business in India for $400 mln

Fertilizer firm Yara International says: Yara acquires Tata Chemicals' urea business in India for USD 400 million on a debt and cash free basis, including normalized net working capital . Includes Babrala urea plant and distribution business in Uttar Pradesh . The plant has an annual production of 0.7 million tonnes ammonia and 1.2 million tonnes urea, and generated revenues and EBITDA of respectively USD 350 million and USD 35 million in the financial year ended 31 March 2016 . The plant was commissioned in 1994, and is the most energy efficient plant in India, with energy efficiency on a par with Yara's best plants . The agreement will be subject to regulatory approvals and sanctioning by the relevant courts in India, a process which is expected to take 9-12 months after which closing of the transaction can take place . Acquisition represents another significant step in growth strategy, creating an integrated position in the world's second-largest fertilizer market .Yara has operated in India since the 1990s, focusing in recent years on premium product sales in the West and South of the country.  Full Article

Norway's Telenor appoints new CFO

Telenor : Joergen Arentz Rostrup appointed new chief financial officer . Rostrup comes from position as president of Yara North America and is also a former CFO of Norsk Hydro .Acting CFO Morten Karlsen Soerby, will continue until Rostrup commences position. France to push LNG as shipping fuel - PM

PARIS, Nov 21 France will support the uptake of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a cleaner fuel for ships by encouraging ports to develop the necessary infrastructure, its prime minister said on Tuesday.
