G Louis Graziadio

Mr. G. Louis L. Graziadio, III is Executive Chairman of the Board of Acacia Research Corp. Mr. has been a director since February 2002. Mr. Graziadio, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Second Southern Corp., the managing partner of Ginarra Partners, L.L.C., a closely-held California company involved in a wide range of investments and business ventures. Mr. Graziadio is also Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Boss Holdings, Inc., a distributor of work and hunting gloves, rainwear, rain boots, industrial apparel, pet products, specialty merchandise, and wireless accessories for electronic and mobile devices. From 1984 to 2000, Mr. Graziadio served as a director of Imperial Bancorp, the parent company of Imperial Bank, a Los Angeles based commercial bank acquired by Comerica Bank in January 2001. Mr. Graziadio, and companies with which he is affiliated, are significant shareholders in numerous private and public companies in a number of different industries. Since 1978, Mr. Graziadio has been active in the restructurings of both private and public companies, as well as corporate spin-offs and IPOs. Mr. Graziadio also served as a director of True Religion Apparel, Inc., a publicly traded clothing company, until its sale in July 2013. Mr. Graziadio is also a member of the Board of Directors of World Point Terminals, Inc., which owns, operates, develops, and acquires terminal assets relating to the storage of light refined products and crude oil. Mr. Graziadio has also served on the Board of Directors of Veritone since August 2016. We believe that Mr. Graziadio’s qualifications to serve on the Board include his extensive business experience having held senior management positions at several different companies and his experience in serving on the boards of directors of public companies.

Marc Booth

Mr. Marc Booth is Chief Intellectual Property Officer of the Company. Mr. Booth was previously the Executive Vice President, General Manager of Acacia Research Group, LLC, the Company’s primary operating subsidiary (“ARG” and together with the Company, “Acacia”) from 2013 to 2017. He joined the Acacia in 2006 as Vice President. Prior to joining Acacia, Mr. Booth’s career in design and development included positions as Senior Director Engineering of Powerwave Technologies; Vice President Engineering and Chief Technology Officer of Comarco Wireless Technologies and Vice President Engineering, Sony Corporation. Mr. Booth began his engineering career as a Masters Fellow at Hughes Aircraft Co. Display Systems Division. Mr. Booth holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of California Riverside and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Isaac Kohlberg

Mr. Isaac T. Kohlberg is Director of the company. Mr. Kohlberg has had a distinguished career protecting and commercializing IP for leading universities and research institutions. He currently is a Senior Associate Provost and Chief Technology Development Officer at Harvard University, where he responsible for the strategic management and commercial development of all technologies and intellectual property (IP) arising from Harvard's research enterprise. Mr. Kohlberg's role at Harvard University includes industry liaising and outreach, IP management, business development, technology commercialization and the formation of startup companies and new ventures around Harvard technology platforms. In tandem, he is also responsible for generating, structuring, and negotiating research alliances and collaborations with industry and generating industry-sponsored research funding for Harvard faculty. Prior to joining Harvard in 2005, Isaac Kohlberg was the CEO of Tel Aviv University's Economic Corporation and head of Ramot, its technology transfer organization. Prior to his role at Ramot, Mr. Kohlberg held various roles at New York University (NYU), including Vice Provost, Vice President for Industrial Liaison (NYU's technology transfer program) and headed the Office of Science and Technology Administration at NYU School of Medicine. During his time at NYU, the institution entered into a major licensing agreement to develop Remicade, a humanized monoclonal antibody used in the treatment of Crohn's Disease and other autoimmune diseases, which led to one of the largest royalty revenue streams generated by any university worldwide.

Maureen O'Connell

Ms. Maureen E. O'Connell is Independent Director of the Company. Ms. O'Connell is a global business executive, Chief Financial Officer and corporate director recognized for significant value creation through strategic initiatives in a variety of industries including media, education, digital, retail, technology, professional services, biotech, pharma, homebuilding, real estate and insurance. From 2007 to 2017, Ms. O'Connell served as the Chief Financial Officer of Scholastic Corporation, the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books. In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Ms. O'Connell had significant experience licensing rights, partnering with trademark and copyright owners and overseeing the protection and assertion of rights on a world basis. Earlier in her career, Ms. O'Connell served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Gartner Group, the world's leading research and advisory company which has developed more than 300,000 business case studies of intellectual property since 1979. Maureen O'Connell has received numerous and diverse awards including CFO Studio's CFO World Class Award in 2017, Treasury and Risk magazine's 30 Outstanding Women in Business in 2012 and Irish Voice's Top 75 Influential Women in 2009. Ms. O'Connell also served as an independent director, audit committee chair and transaction committee chair at Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of highly specialized medicines, from 2013 to 2018 when it was acquired by Mallinckrodt in a $1.2 billion transaction. At Sucampo, Ms. O'Connell played a key role in evaluating the acquisition of highly specialized medicines in development resulting in the acquisition of two companies. She is currently an independent director at Harte-Hanks Inc. and previously served on the board of directors of Beazer Homes USA Inc.

Frank Walsh

Mr. Frank E. Walsh III, is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. has served as a director since April 2016. Mr. Walsh is the manager of Jupiter Capital Management Partners, LLC and a founding partner of WR Capital Partners. Through Jupiter and WR Capital Partners, Mr. Walsh has extensive experience in the acquisition and financing of both public and private companies in the technology industry and many other industries. Mr. Walsh served on the board of directors and the audit and compensation committees of 1st Constitution Bank and 1st Constitution Bancorp, and currently serves as a director and audit committee member of World Point Terminals Inc. and as a director of Veritone. Mr. Walsh also serves as a trustee for St. Benedicts Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We believe that Mr. Walsh is qualified to serve on the Board because of his business skills and experience, executive leadership expertise and investment acumen developed during his long career at Jupiter Capital Management Partners, LLC and WR Capital Partners, LLC, and his service on other boards.

Katharine Wolanyk

Ms. Katharine Wolanyk is Independent Director of the Company. Ms. Wolanyk's career spans the business, legal and engineering fields, with a particular focus in intellectual property. She is a Managing Director at Burford Capital, a leading global finance and investment management firm focused on law with over $3 billion committed to the legal market. She was named a World's Leading IP Strategist by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) in 2015 through 2018 and has deep experience within the technology industry. Ms. Wolanyk leads Burford's intellectual property business as well as its Chicago office. Burford is one of the top performing listings on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market, with a current market capitalization of more than $4.5 billion. Prior to joining Burford, Ms. Wolanyk was President, Chief Legal Officer and a board member of Soverain Software, an enterprise software company whose patent portfolio has been licensed extensively in the software and Internet retailing industries. Ms. Wolanyk was also intellectual property counsel to a publicly traded IT solutions firm, General Counsel of a managed hosting provider, Senior Vice President of corporate development at a publicly traded enterprise software company, a corporate attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP, and began her career as a systems engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company. Ms. Wolanyk holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University.
