Name Description

Yanhong Li

Mr. Yanhong (Robin) Li is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder of Baidu, Inc. He received a bachelor of science degree in information management from Peking University in 1991, and a master of science degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994. Robin worked as a Senior Consultant at a subsidiary of Dow Jones and designed the real-time financial information system for the online edition of the Wall Street Journal. Robin received a US patent for a system of hyperlink analysis in 1999, one of the inventions that has helped shape today's search technology. He later joined InfoSeek, one of the early search engines, in Silicon Valley as a Senior Engineer. Since founding the company in January 2000, Robin has led Baidu to be China’s largest search engine, with over 70% market share. Baidu is the largest Chinese search engine globally and the second largest independent search engine in the world. China is among the four countries globally—alongside the United States, Russia and South Korea—to possess its own core search engine technology. Through innovations such as from Box Computing to Baidu’s Open Data and Open App Platform, Robin has substantially advanced the theoretical framework of China’s Internet sciences, propelling Baidu to be the vanguard of China’s Internet industry. In 2005, Baidu became a NASDAQ-listed public company and in 2007 was the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index. In 2007, The Financial Times listed Baidu as one of the Top 10 Chinese Global Brands, with Baidu being the youngest company as well as the only Internet company in the top ten.

Qi Lu

Dr. Qi Lu, Ph.D., serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Company. He was Group President, Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He joined the company in January 2017 as group president and chief operating officer and has served as a director and the vice chairman of the board of directors since February 2017. Dr. Lu is in charge of products, technology, sales, marketing and operations and is currently the general manager of our Intelligent Driving Group. Prior to joining us, Dr. Lu most recently served as Microsoft’s global executive vice president and led one of Microsoft’s three business units, having joined Microsoft in 2009 as president of its Online Services Group. Earlier in his career, Dr. Lu joined Yahoo! in 1998, later becoming senior vice president in charge of search and advertising technologies, and subsequently executive vice president in 2007. Dr. Lu holds both bachelor and master degrees in computer science from Fudan University in Shanghai and a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. He holds over 40 US patents and has authored many papers in his field.

Herman Yu

Mr. Herman Yu, CPA., serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He has served as our chief financial officer since September 2017 and is in charge of our overall finance functions. Prior to joining Baidu, Mr. Yu served as the chief financial officer of Weibo Corporation, a social media in China (NASDAQ: WB) from 2015 to 2017. Prior to Weibo, Mr. Yu worked at SINA Corporation, a portal in China (NASDAQ: SINA) from 2004 to 2015, with the last eight years as chief financial officer. Mr. Yu began his career at Arthur Andersen and held various finance and accounting management positions at Adobe Systems Inc., Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and VeriFone Systems, Inc. Mr. Yu currently serves on the board of directors of 58.com Inc., an online classifieds listing company (NYSE: WUBA), ZTO Express Inc., an express delivery company (NYSE: ZTO), and Ctrip.com International, Ltd., an online travel agency (NASDAQ: CTRP). Mr. Yu, a California Certified Public Accountant, received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Southern California.

Ya-Qin Zhang

Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang was President - New Business of the Company. Prior to joining company, Dr. Zhang serves as president of new business in charge of intelligent driving and other emerging businesses. Prior to joining Baidu in 2014, Dr. Zhang was a corporate vice president at Microsoft and chairman of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D Group for a decade, leading Microsoft’s overall research and development efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Dr. Zhang was a director for the Multimedia Technology Laboratory at Sarnoff Corp. Dr. Zhang currently serves on the board of directors of Tarena International, Inc. a professional education service provider (NASDAQ: TEDU) and Chinasoft International Ltd (HKEX: 354). Dr. Zhang is a fellow of Australia Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Zhang received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from George Washington University.

Lee Liu

Mr. Lee Liu is Senior Vice President of the Company. currently serves as our senior vice president in charge of human resources and administration functions. Prior to joining Baidu in April 2011, Mr. Liu served as the global vice president of human resources at Motorola from 2009 to 2011. Mr. Liu joined Motorola in 1989 and served in a variety of senior roles in the United States, Singapore and mainland China. Mr. Liu received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in microelectronics from Tianjin University, and an executive MBA degree from Peking University, and a Ph.D. in economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Mr. Liu also attended the MBA program on global leadership at the University of Texas-Austin.

Haifeng Wang

Dr. Haifeng Wang, Ph.D., is Senior Vice President of the Company. He was was Vice President of the Company. Dr. Wang oversees our research and development efforts in artificial intelligence as well as other technology groups. From 2014 to 2017, Dr. Wang oversaw our core search products. From 2002 to 2010, Dr. Wang served as the chief research scientist at Toshiba’s R&D Center. Dr. Wang is the president of National Engineering Laboratory for Deep Learning Technology and Applications, and a fellow and the former president of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) and the founding chair of ACL’s Asia-Pacific chapter in 2018. He obtained his bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Harbin Institute of Technology.

Brent Callinicos

Mr. Brent Callinicos is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. He has served as company independent director since October 2015, and as the Chairman of company Audit Committee since April 2016. Mr. Callinicos served as the chief operating officer and the chief financial officer of Virgin Hyperloop One from January 2017 to February 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Callinicos served as the chief financial officer of Uber Technologies Inc. from September 2013 to March 2015, and then as an advisor for 18 additional months. Prior to joining Uber, he worked at Google from January 2007 to September 2013, where he last served as vice president, treasurer and chief accountant. He also led green energy investments and financial services at Google Inc. From 1992 to 2007, he served in a variety of increasingly senior roles at Microsoft Corporation, where he last served as corporate vice-president and divisional chief financial officer of the Platforms and Services Division, and oversaw Microsoft’s Worldwide Licensing and Pricing and Microsoft Financing. He currently serves on the board of directors of PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH), and Rubicon Global, a private company. Mr. Callinicos is a certified public accountant. Mr. Callinicos received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. degree from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at Chapel Hill.

Jian Ding

Mr. Jian Ding is Independent Director of Baidu, Inc. He has served as company independent director since company initial public offering in August 2005. Mr. Ding is currently a general partner and managing director of GSR Ventures, an early stage venture fund focusing on technology, media and telecom investment in China. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as a co-chairman of the board of directors of AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed company, from July 2010 to January 2014. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as the chairman of the board of AsiaInfo from April 2003 to July 2010, and a member of the board since AsiaInfo’s inception in 1993. Mr. Ding served as the chief executive officer and president of AsiaInfo from 1999 to 2003 and as senior vice president and chief technology officer of AsiaInfo from 1993 to 1999. Mr. Ding also serves as an independent director of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, a ChiNext Shenzhen-listed company. Mr. Ding received a master’s degree in information science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Peking University in China.

Yuanqing Yang

Mr. Yuanqing Yang is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. Mr. Yang is currently the chairman and chief executive officer of Lenovo Group Limited, a Hong Kong-listed company. Mr. Yang joined Lenovo in 1989 and has led the company from the initial China-based PC maker to a diversified global technology leader. In 2011, FinanceAsia named Mr. Yang the Best CEO in China. In 2004 and 2012, Mr. Yang was named one of the “CCTV China Annual Economic Figures.” He was listed on Barron’s list of Best CEOs in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Mr. Yang won an Edison Achievement Award for Innovation. Mr. Yang currently serves as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Mr. Yang holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Science and Technology of China.
