Name Description

Johnathan Rhyne

Mr. Johnathan L. Rhyne, Jr.,is Chairman of the Board of Carolina Trust Bank. He served as Partner/member, The Jonas Law Firm, P.L.L.C., Member/Manager, Legacy Shares, LLC (real estate), President, South Fork Holdings, Inc. (real estate) until acquired by Legacy Shares, LLC in 2004, all of Lincolnton, NC, Member, North Carolina House of Representatives, since January 2009, Raleigh, NC. He currently serves as a member of the North Carolina General Assembly. He also has previous experience as a director for another bank in Lincoln County, which gives him a deep knowledge of the markets in which the Bank operates. Mr. Rhyne also serves on the boards of directors of two local non-profit organizations.

Jerry Ocheltree

Mr. Jerry L. Ocheltree has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer of the company., effective January 1, 2014. Following chief executive positions at Premier South Bank in Wytheville, Virginia and First Virginia Bank, also in Wytheville, Virginia, Ocheltree was recruited in 1998 to join First Bank to run its largest region. In 2005 he was elevated to President and Chief Executive officer. As chief executive at First Bank, Ocheltree had oversight for the strategic direction and daily operations of the entire bank and worked with his senior management team to establish the company's mission and vision. Under his leadership, First Bank grew from $1.5B in assets to more than $3.4B in assets in seven years. Ocheltree has extensive relationships throughout North Carolina banking circles. He served as Chair of the North Carolina Bankers Association for 2012 -- 2013.

Donald Boyer

Mr. Donald J. Boyer is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Carolina Trust Bank since October 2003. Prior to that, Assistant Vice President and Assistant Controller, High Country Bank, Boone, NC since March 2002. From 1979 to 1990, Mr. Boyer served as Controller for two banks in Florida.

Richard Rager

Mr. Richard M. Rager is Chief Credit Officer, Senior Vice President of Carolina Trust Bank since June 2006. Prior to that, Vice President, Catawba Valley Bank, Hickory, NC since February 2005 and prior to that, Vice President, Nevada State Bank, Reno, Nevada. Mr. Rager has been involved in bank lending since 1981, including service with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the evaluation of problem loans.

Steve Abernethy

Mr. Steve W. Abernethy is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. He served as President and operator, Bar-B-Que King, Inc. (restaurant), Lincolnton, NC. He has experience in the operation ofsmall businesses and knowledge of the markets in which the Bank operates, which he has gained from owning and operating a local retail establishment since 1970.

He served as Pharmacist, President and owner, Brookins, Inc. d/b/a The Drug Store Health Mart (operates community drug store and distributes durable medical supplies), Lincolnton, NC. He served as President, Gaston Electronics, President, Gaston County Dyeing Machine Company (manufacturing), both of Stanley, NC. He has experience in marketing, budgeting and management, which he brings to the board through his experience in the manufacturing of textile electronic equipment for the last 30 years.

Richard Gettys

He served as Executive Director of Facilities, Lincoln County School System, Lincolnton, NC, since 2004, prior to that, Vice President - District Operations, Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation (co-operative electricity provider), Cherryville, NC. Mr. John R. James is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. He was Retired former General Manager, Town Square Ford, Inc., Lincolnton, NC. He brings over 40 years of marketing and management experience to the board through his work in the automotive dealership industry in Lincolnton. His many years in the automotive industry in Lincolnton have also given him knowledge of the communities in which the Bank operates. Mr. Glenn Wayne Jones is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. He served as Veterinarian and Owner, Animal Hospital of Cornelius, Cornelius, NC. Owner of Lincolnton Animal Hospital, Lincolnton, NC until 2008. He serves, or has served, in positions with non-profit and civic organizations and has served as the Chairman of the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.

Duane McCallister

Mr. Duane K. McCallister is Director of Carolina Trust Bank. From 1998 until 2007, McCallister was publisher of the Gaston Gazette. He retired after a 38-year career in the newspaper business in Gaston County, of which he spent 33 years as a publisher. Mr. McCallister also has positions on several civic and non-profit organizations and currently serves as the Chairman of the Gaston County Economic Commission.

Joseph Rhyne

Mr. Joseph M. Rhyne III, is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. He is an Insurance Agent, MassMutual Life Insurance Company, Registered Representative, MML Investors Services, Inc. (securities), both of Lincolnton, NC. He brings his knowledge of current market conditions and investment strategies as a financial planner to the Board. He also serves as President of the Lincoln Rotary Club and has served on the board of directors of the Lincoln/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Fred P. Spach, Jr., is Director of Carolina Trust Bank. He is a President and CEO, Carolina Brush Manufacturing Co., Inc. (manufacturer of brushes for commercial and industrial use), Gastonia, NC. Mr. Spach serves on the boards of directors of several civic and non-profit organizations in the Gaston County market as well as serving on the board of directors for an industry trade group in which his business operates.

Ralph Strayhorn

Mr. Ralph N. Strayhorn, III, serves as Director of the Company. He is Managing Partner of Cape Point Advisory Partners, LLC, Charlotte, NC. Mr. Strayhorn has spent the last 35 years in the banking and related financial businesses since receiving his JD degree in 1981 from UNC-Chapel Hill and his BA from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1977. During 14 of the last 22 years, he has served as an executive officer of four banks in North Carolina and one in Florida, served on the board of directors of all five of these banks and served as President and CEO of four of these banks. Mr. Strayhorn has both lectured and spoken at various directors’ colleges and CEO forums in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and has addressed the North Carolina Banking Commission on the “Anatomy of a Failure” and the present state of community banking in North Carolina. Effective November 30, 2013, Mr. Strayhorn was appointed by the Honorable Pat McCrory, Governor of North Carolina, to a four year term as a director of the Golden L.E.A.F. Foundation (GLF) and serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee.

Jim Watson

Mr. Jim R. Watson is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. He is an Assistant Professor, College of Education, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, since 2007, Retired Superintendent, Lincoln County Schools, Lincolnton, NC. Mr. Watson also currently serves in the positions for a local civic and non-profit organizations and has served in the past on many other boards, which has provided him skills and local knowledge of the markets in which the Bank operates.

Rosalind Welder

Ms. Rosalind N. Welder is Director of Carolina Trust Bank since December 5, 2000. She is the Dean, Lincoln Campus Gaston College, Lincolnton, NC. She has been in education for over 30 years, including 11 years in Lincoln County. She has also been active in the civic affairs of Lincoln County, serving on the boards of directors of several non-profit organizations.
