Biographies

Name Description

Magued Osman

Dr. Magued Ibrahim Osman was appointed Chairman, Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt in March 31, 2016, representing the government. He is the Executive Manager of the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research 'Baseera' and a professor of statistics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. Dr. Osman served as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in the caretaker government which was formed after the 25th January revolution in 2011. He has also served as Executive Director of Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC), an affiliate of the Egyptian Cabinet, from 2005 to 2011. He was the Executive Manager of the Demographic Center in Cairo in 2004. Currently, he is the editor and lead author of the 2016 Human Development Report for social justice issues. He is a member of the National Council for Women and the Vice President of the Union of Arab Statisticians. He is the Chief founder of the Arab Network of Public Opinion Polling Stations and Coordinator for the Egyptian Initiative for Right to Information. He is a member of the Institut d’Égypte, and member of the Board of Trustees of the faculty of International Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo. He is Board Chairman of Trustees of the 'Call' initiative for the development of Upper Egypt. He supervised the implementation of a large number of opinion polls and surveys, including global survey of values in Egypt and the Corruption Perceptions Survey in Egypt. He made his first public opinion polls to assess the Presidential performance and first-time post voting surveys. His research interests include measuring human development, governance and demographic studies, the role of think-tanks and future studies. He participated in the preparation of Egypt's vision for sustainable development to year 2030 “Egypt Vision 2030” and held the responsibility to develop the demographic strategy. He obtained his Master and Doctoral degrees from Case University in USA.

Ahmed El Beheiry

Mr. Ahmed El Beheiry has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, a Managing Director of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. with effect March 28, 2017. Mr. El Beheiry became a Board Member of Telecom Egypt in March 2016. He has more than 20 years’ extensive experience in management positions in various telecommunications corporations, playing a major role in the conception and implementation of the business plans and strategic decisions in these businesses. He started his career as a design engineer for mobile networks in Alcatel and contributed to the infrastructure construction for the first mobile network in Egypt during the period from 1995 to 1998. He then joined one of the local licensed mobile operators as a network development manager, eventually becoming networks & roaming director. In 2007, he founded Telecomix Group for Investment and Development, a group of companies operating in the fields of telecommunications and Information Technology services in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East. He served as the Board Chairman of the group until March 2016. In 2014, El Beheiry co-founded "Idea" Company for investments in Africa, developing technological solutions for the development of African communities in the fields of infrastructure, energy and water. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of the company until December 2015.

Mohammed Shamroukh

Mr. Mohammed Hassan Shamroukh serves as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, Non-Executive Director of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since March 2016. He represents Telecom Egypt in several boards including Vodafone Egypt, TE Data and Xceed. He first joined Telecom Egypt in 2002 as a Network Engineer, undertaking various responsibilities and roles before being appointed Operations General Manager, in 2007. In 2009, he was appointed to the role of Corporate Strategy Director. Mr. Shamroukh holds an Executive Master's in Business Administration from IESE Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Electric Communication from Cairo University.

Tarek Shamekh

Mr. Tarek Shamekh is Acting Chief Technology Officer at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since June 2018. He has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and networks in both local and multinational telecom operators. He joined Telecom Egypt from Djezzy, the Algerian subsidiary of Global Telecom Holding (GTH)/ Veon, where he served as the Head of Networks. In his role, he successfully launched Djezzyís 4G network in Algeria in the shortest duration way ahead of competition. He has also transformed Djezzyís network strategy to achieve a future-proof network, while remaining operationally efficient. Earlier in his career, Shamekh served as the PMO Technology Director of GTH. During this time, he successfully managed multi-million USD network projects both financially and technically across the companyís footprint and later as part of Veon. He also has 17 years of experience in management is characterized by building mobile networks from the initial phase of planning to their live operation and onwards onto operational excellence and transformation. He started his career as an Engineer in Siemens AG, Egypt in 1997 and moved on to join Mobinil (now Orange Egypt) for five years, where he managed network development projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University and is PMP Certified. He also holds a Diploma in Mobile Communications from the Telecoms Academy.

Antar Kandil

Mr. Antar Kandil is Chief Information Officer, Vice President at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since 2017. He first joined at the firm in 2009 as the General Manager of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Applications Development and the Head of Oracle relations for TE Group projects. In February 2011, he was appointed Director of IT Operations & Infrastructure. He started his career in 1998, working for Aria Systems in the United States for 5 years, first as a Senior Systems Administrator for the Cairo office, and then moved to the New York office as the Information Technology Manager. In April 2003, Kandil joined Swift Group as the Group Information Technology Director. In May 2005, Kandil moved to Shell Gas & Power Company as the Head of Information Technology before joining Nile Company for Food Industries (Enjoy) in mid-2006, as the Group IT Director, a position he held for more than 3 years. Mr. Kandil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Alexandria University, Egypt.

Hany Abdel Moneim

Mr. Hany Abdel Moneim is Vice President and Chief Customer Care Officer at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since October 2017. He has 22 years of experience with concentrated telecom knowledge in customer care. Mr. Abdel Moneim was a veteran customer care officer in Vodafone Egypt having served the company 18+ years in various roles spanning customer care, service assurance, credit and collection for consumer and enterprise, CRM, complaints and retention management, MIS and planning, outbound campaigns and vendor management. He enjoys an excellent experience in launching the customer experience across all touch points. He has led over 3,500 employees serving a customer base of over 40 million, successfully positioning the customer experience of the brand, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction and first contact resolution performance. Mr. Abdel Moneim also has experience in customer care consultancy having led a customer experience and care project with Vodafone International Services for Omantel, the incumbent integrated mobile and fixed operator in Oman early in 2017. Mr. Abdel Moneim holds a Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management from the University of Helwan University, an Executive MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain. He was also selected among the high achievers of Vodafone Egypt to receive a Telecoms Mini MBA in London.

Mohamed Abo-Taleb

Mr. Mohamed Abo-Taleb is Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since September 2017. Mr. Abo-Taleb brings 17 years of experience in the telecom industry both locally and internationally. Before joining Telecom Egypt, Mr. Abo-Taleb successfully led the transformation of The Post Distribution Company (PDC) as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 2013. In February 2011, Abo-Taleb joined Orascom Telecom Holding (currently Global Telecom) to lead the Regional Sales Office overlooking the company’s African and Asian markets. He was also the acting Vice President for Sales in Wind Canada. He started his work career in 2000 in Vodafone Egypt, where he held various positions within the company before being appointed the Consumer Sales Strategy & Development Manager in 2004. He then joined Etisalat Egypt in 2006 as the Head of Sales Operations & Strategy. Mr. Abo-Taleb holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from Cairo University, Egypt and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from ESLSCA, France.

Adel Hamed

Mr. Adel Hamed is Vice President and Chief International & Wholesale Officer at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since August 2017. He first joined the firm in 1999 as a network engineer, undertaking various roles and responsibilities before becoming the General Manager of International & Wholesale Business Operations in 2008. In 2013, he was appointed as Director of International and Wholesale Technical and Operations, moving on to the role of Domestic Wholesale Director in 2014 before being promoted to Domestic Wholesale Business Unit Head in 2015 and Senior Director of Domestic Wholeslae in April 2017. As the Head of Domestic Wholesale, Hamed developed the long-term agreement model for international and transmission services with domestic operators, which allowed Telecom Egypt to secure such revenue stream for the long-term starting 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Electrical Communication from Helwan University, Egypt.

Rifaat Junaidi

Eng. Rifaat Said Junaidi has been appointed as Vice President, Chief Regional Officer of Telecom Egypt Co SAE effective from December 23, 2012. He joined the Company in 1984; and served in several senior positions within the Company including Regional Manager of Said and Canal Cities in October 2012. Junaidi holds a Master degree in Business Administration from AAST and B.Sc. in Electrical Communications Engineering.

Mohamed Attia-Allah

Mr. Mohamed Abdellatief Attia-Allah serves as Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since March 2016. Previously, he was appointed member of Telecom Egypt’s Board of Directors in June 2014, representing the company’s Employee Union. He is appointed as the company’s Manpower Planning Manager at Technical Affairs. Mr. Attia-Allah is a board member in the Loyalty and Membership Fund, as well as a board member of Telecom Egypt’s Sports Club. Attia-Allah holds a Bachelor degree from the High Institute for Studies, in 1990. He also obtained a diploma in Business Administration, in 2006.

Hussien Amin

Dr. Hussien Yousri Mohamed Gamal El-din Amin was appointed Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. in March 2016, representing the government. Amin is a professor and former chair of journalism and mass communication department and director of the Adham center for Television and digital journalism at the school of Global Affairs and Public Policies, the American University in Cairo. He serves on many boards including the world congress on Middle East Studies, the information Technology Institute (ITI), the H.H. Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah informatics Awards, and the Egyptian Radio and Television Union. Mr. Amin holds Doctoral degree from the Ohio State University in 1986.

Mohamed Barakat

Mr. Mohamed Kamal Eldeen Barakat serves as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. representing Egypt Government since March 28, 2017. He is currently Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of Arab International Bank since October 2014. He is over 37 years of professional banking experience. He has a strong record of achievement in Senior Managerial Positions. General Manager of Egyptian American Bank, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Egyptian Gulf Bank, Chairman and CEO of Banque Misr from December 2002 till September 2014, Chairman and General Manager of Banque Misr Liban from May 2003 till April 2015, Chairman of Supervisory Board of Misr Bank Europe – Frankfort from December 2003 till June 2007, Chairman Banque du Caire from September 2005 till September 2011. He was a Board member of Central Bank of Egypt December 2003-November 2011 during which was appointed as a member of the Banking Reform Committee and the Audit Committee, Board member of the Egyptian Banking Institute January 2003 till January 2016, Board member and elected Vice Chairman Cairo Amman Bank from 2005 till 2014, Board member of the Anti-money Laundry unit 2008 – 2014, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Banks from April 2005 till March 2011, Vice Chairman of the Union of Arab Banks from 2007 till 2013 , Chairman of the Union of Arab Banks from 2013 till April 2016, Advisory Board Member of Master Card International (Middle East & Africa) from March 2011 till date, Board member of Visa International (CEMEA Regional Board) from 2003 till 2008, Advisory Board Member of Visa - Middle East & Africa ( CEMEA Advisory Forum ) from 2008 till December 2010. He holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Alexandria University in 1974 and an MBA degree from University of San Francisco – USA in 1977

Mohammed El Nasr

Mr. Mohammed Hany Seif El Nasr has been appointed as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. in March 2016. Mr. El Nasr is the chairman of the Arab Investment Bank since 2011, He has been offering many years of experience in the banking, financial, social and developmental domains. He took over the presidency of important financial and banking institutions, of which are: Chairman of Misr Arab African Bank, CEO of the Arab Bank Corporation (ABC-Egypt), Managing Director of the Social Fund for development (SFD), as well as former Board of Director's member in Bank Misr, National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and the Commercial International Bank (CIB) and previously served as President of the Arab Union for small enterprises and President of Union of Arab Investors.

Ashraf Ismail

Mr. Ashraf Mohamed Sayeed Halim Ismail serves as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since March 31, 2016. He is the chief of staff of the Egyptian Signal Corps in the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Amr Mansoor

Eng. Amr Abdul Rasheed Mansoor serves as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E., representing Egypt Government since March 28, 2017. He is the Chief Information Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. He served as board member of Xceed from March 2016 to March 2017. He has a 30 year veteran in the IT and Telecom industry with solid experience in strategic planning, technology integration, business development and project management. He was involved in the implementation and management of several local and international information systems projects in different business areas in Egypt and France. He successfully managed the transformation of AmCham Egypt to a technology enabled e-Chamber and the development of many online services for the business community in Egypt. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cairo University in 1986.

Ahmad Abu Ali

Mr. Ahmad Mohammed Jamal Abu Ali is Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board for Telecom Egypt Co SAE since August 16, 2011. Mr. Abu Ali is an Attorney of the Supreme Court of Egypt. He is also a Partner at Hassouna and Abou Ali legal practice with particular experience in all aspects of corporate, commercial and financial law. He acts regularly as a legal advisor to the boards of several local subsidiaries of multinational companies and Egyptian joint stock companies. Mr. Abou Ali holds an International Law degree from Notre Dame Law School (London School of Economics - LSE), in 1979. He holds a L.L.M (Master of Laws) degree from Harvard University, in 1985.

Amr El Ganainy

Mr. Amr El Ganainy is Non-Executive Independent Director at Telecom Egypt Company S.A.E. since June 2017. Mr. El Ganainy is the Chief Executive Officer, Institutional Banking, Commercial International Bank (Egypt). He joined CIB in 2004 as a General Manager, Financial Institutions Group. He was also the President of Global Customer Relations since 2010. He is also the Chairman of Falcon Group, Chairman of CI Asset Management Co., and a Board Member in several companies such as; CI Capital Holding Co., TE Data, Misr for Central Clearing, Depositary and Registry Co., Egyptian Holding Co. for Airports and Air Navigation, and the Honorary Chairman of both Interarab Cambist Association (ICA) and Egyptian Dealers Association (ACI Egypt). Mr. El Ganainy was the Chairman of Commercial International Brokerage Co., Executive Board Member of ACI International (The Financial Market Association), Board Member of Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Co. and the Chairman of Capital Securities Brokerage Co. He worked as General Manager, Treasurer and Head of Correspondent Banking of the United Bank of Egypt, Chief Dealer of Export Development Bank and started his career as a Dealer at Suez Canal Bank. Mr. El Ganainy graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University in 1985.
