Biographies

Name Description

Donald Tomnitz

Mr. Donald J. Tomnitz is Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company. Mr. Tomnitz served as the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of D.R. Horton, Forestar’s majority stockholder, from November 1998 to September 2014. From 1996 until 1998, Mr. Tomnitz was President of D.R. Horton’s Homebuilding Division. In 1998, he was elected an Executive Vice President of D.R. Horton and in 2000, he became President of D.R. Horton as well. Before joining D.R. Horton, Mr. Tomnitz was a Captain in the U.S. Army, a Vice President of RepublicBank of Dallas, N.A., and a Vice President of Crow Development Company, a Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Tomnitz holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Westminster College and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Western Illinois University.

Daniel Bartok

Mr. Daniel Bartok has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective December 29, 2017. Mr. Bartok joins Forestar with more than 35 years of experience in real estate, most recently serving as the Executive Vice President of Owned Real Estate for Wells Fargo Bank, a diversified financial services company, from 2008 to 2017. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he built a successful real estate development company operating across multiple states, with an emphasis on residential land development and homebuilding. Mr. Bartok graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in accounting and began his career at Price Waterhouse.

Charles Jehl

Mr. Charles D. Jehl is Chief Financial Officer, Principal Accounting Officer of the Company. He previously served as our Executive Vice President - Oil and Gas from February 2015 to September 2015, as Executive Vice President - Oil and Gas Business Administration from 2013 to February 2015, and as Chief Accounting Officer from 2006 to 2013. Mr. Jehl served as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Guaranty Insurance Services, Inc. from 2005 to 2006, and as Senior Vice President and Controller from 2000 to 2005. From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Jehl held various financial management positions within Temple-Inland’s financial services segment. Mr. Jehl is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Michael Quinley

Mr. Michael Quinley is President – Community Development of the Company. He previously served as our Executive Vice President - Real Estate, East Region from 2011 to September 2015, as Executive Vice President - Eastern Region Real Estate Investments & Development from 2010 to 2011, and as Executive Vice President - Eastern Region Developments & Investments from 2008 to 2010. He has more than 30 years of prior real estate experience, including as CEO of Patrick Malloy Communities, as Senior Executive Vice President of Cousins Properties Incorporated and as Senior Vice President and CFO of Peachtree Corners Inc., all based in Atlanta.

Ashton Hudson

Mr. Ashton Hudson is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Hudson is President and General Counsel of Rock Creek Capital Group, Inc., an alternative asset manager with significant land holdings throughout the southeast, and has been a partner and member of the Rock Creek Investment Committee since 2002. Previously, Mr. Hudson practiced law with the firm of Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, where his legal practice was primarily focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. He is a former owner and manager of Timbervest, LLC, one of the first timber investment management organizations (TIMO).
