Biographies

Name Description

Sam Hackner

Mr. Sam Hackner, BCom (Hons), Dip Acc, CA(SA), is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company. He has over 37 years of experience in the property industry. Sam retired as chairman of the Investec Group’s Global Property activities and as a member of Investec Global Property Investment Committee and Investec Global Property Credit Committee on 28 February 2018 after 38 years of service. He was chairman of Growthpoint, the largest property REIT listed on the JSE, from 2003 to 2008. He is currently chairman of Investec Property Fund and has held that position since it was listed on the JSE in April 2011.

Nicholas Riley

Mr. Nicholas P. (Nick) Riley is re designated as Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 1 December 2018. He is no longer serves as Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of Investec Property Fund Ltd., effective 1 December 2018. Nick assumed the role of chief executive officer (‘CEO’), and in the same year, the Fund’s asset base increased from R8 billion to R16.7 billion. Prior to joining the Fund, Nick spent nine years at Investec Corporate Finance, where he was a senior investment banker responsible for a number of Investec’s key client relationships, including all clients within the real estate sector.

Samuel Leon

Mr. Samuel R. (Sam) Leon serves as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of the Board of Investec Property Fund Ltd. He has over 40 years of experience across all sectors of the property industry with 26 years at Investec Property (Pty) Ltd, firstly as a director, then managing director and currently as deputy chairman. He was a founder of the transformation of Growthpoint into South Africa’s largest listed property REIT and was a director until Investec sold its interests in October 2007. Sam also served on the Board of the South African Property Owners’ Association. He retired as CEO of Investec Property Fund Limited on 31 March 2015, having held this position since its listing on the JSE in April 2011. He remains on the board as non-executive deputy chairman. Sam is a key driver of the formation of the Investec Australia Property Fund which listed on the JSE in October 2013 and where he holds the position of non-executive director.

Andrew Wooler

Mr. Andrew Robert Wooler, B Bus Sci (Finance Hons), ACA, is re designated as Joint Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of the Company effective 1, December 2018. He is well known to the institutional market having joined the Fund in 2012 and holding the role of Chief Financial Officer since August 2015. Andrew has been instrumental to the growth and performance of the Fund from an asset base on listing of R1.7 billion to the current R20.2 billion. Andrew, together with the board and management, has been responsible for the Fund’s conservative approach to its balance sheet and risk management which is reflected in the strength of the Fund’s Corporate Rating and attractive debt pricing.

Moses Ngoasheng

Mr. Moses Modidima Ngoasheng serves as Lead Independent Non-Executive Director of Investec Property Fund Ltd. Prior to 1994, Moses Ngoasheng was involved in economic policy formulation as part of the ANC’s economic policy division and joined the Presidency as Economic Advisor to Deputy and later President Mbeki from 1995 to 2000. He is currently the Deputy Chairman and CEO of Safika Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a substantial investment holding company which he formed in 1994. Moses serves on the boards of SABSA, the South African holding company of the AB InBev, Dimension Data, Torre Ltd, Business Leadership South Africa, The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital and other unlisted subsidiaries and associates of Safika Holdings. He is the Lead Independent Director for Investec Property Fund Limited.

Luigi Giuricich

Mr. Luigi Luca Maria Giuricich, BCompt (Hons), CA(SA), is Non-Executive Director of the Company. He completed his articles at Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co (now KPMG). He has over 30 years of experience across all sectors of the construction and property sectors. Starting as the financial director of the S.Giuricich group of companies in 1990, he currently holds numerous directorships of group and associate companies.

Philip Hourquebie

Mr. Philip Hourquebie is Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company. He has over 38 years of experience at the global professional services firm, EY. Between 2010 and 2014 he served as the Regional Managing Partner, Central & South Eastern Europe, for EY and prior to that he was the Regional Managing Partner, Sub Saharan Africa and CEO South Africa. He currently serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of Aveng Ltd, Investec Ltd and Investec plc. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and a past chairman of the board.

Suliman Mahomed

Mr. Suliman Mahomed is Independent Non-Executive Director of Investec Property Fund Ltd. He has over 46 years’ experience in the investment and development of commercial property. He is presently chairman and chief executive officer of the Solly’s group of companies, including Solly’s Discount World, Solly Noor Properties and Computron.

Constance Mashaba

Ms. Constance M. Mashaba is Independent Non-Executive Director of Investec Property Fund Ltd. She has been with Black Like Me Products since inception in 1985, working as their financial manager and assuming the position as managing director from 2005 to date. Connie served as a trustee of Deutsche Bank Africa Foundation from 2009 to 2014. She also serves as non-executive chairman of The Energy Company Proprietary Limited, non-executive chairman of Securitas – RSA and as chairman of African Equity Corporation Proprietary Limited. She has a BComm (Hons) in Business Management and a Diploma in marketing and communication from the AAA School of Advertising. Connie has attended executive leadership programmes at Harvard Business School and is a fellow member of the Institute of Directors of SA.

Khumo Shuenyane

Mr. Khumo Lesego Shuenyane is Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company. He is a partner at Delta Partners, a global firm headquartered in Dubai and focused on providing advisory services in the telecoms, technology and digital sector. He also serves on the boards of Investec Limited, Investec PLC and Investec Bank Limited. Between 2007 and 2013 Khumo served as Group Chief Mergers & Acquisitions Officer for MTN Group Limited. He was previously head of Principal Investments at Investec Bank Limited. Before taking responsibility for the Principal Investments division in 2005, Khumo was a member of Investec’s Corporate Finance division for seven years. Prior to joining Investec in 1998 Khumo worked for Arthur Andersen for six years from 1992. He completed his articles with the firm in Birmingham, England, qualifying as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1995.
