Biographies

Name Description

Khalid Al-Falih

H.E. Eng. Khalid A. Al-Falih serves as Chairman of the Board of Saudi Arabian Oil Company. Currently he is also Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for Saudi Arabian Oil Company until 2015. As Executive Vice President for Operations from 2007 through 2008, he oversaw all of the Company’s core operations, including the business lines for Exploration and Producing; Refining, Marketing, and International; Operations Services; and Engineering and Project Management. He has also previously served as the Senior Vice President of Gas Operations and Industrial Relations, and as President of Petron Corporation. Mr. Al-Falih was named to the Saudi Aramco Board of Directors in 2004. He also serves on the Saudi Arabian Supreme Council of Petroleum and Mineral Affairs, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1982. In 1991, he received his Master of Business Administration from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. His membership in professional societies includes the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), and the Oxford Energy Policy Club. He was also a member of the board of the Saudi National Program for Development of Industrial Clusters.

Amin Nasser

Eng. Amin H. Nasser serves as President, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco). During a company career that spans more than three decades, Eng. Nasser has served in a number of leadership positions, including as senior vice president for Upstream. Eng. Nasser is actively engaged in the advancement of people through education and training, and advancing the company’s innovation and technology strategy. Currently, he is leading Saudi Aramco’s efforts to produce cleaner energy and products through investments in entrepreneurial start-ups, renewable, oil-to-chemicals processes, and carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies. He is also leading the In-Kingdom Total Value Add initiative, the company’s program to raise the level of local content of its suppliers in Saudi Arabia to 70 percent by 2021. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Nasser is a member of the International Advisory Board of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals; the Board of Directors of the Dhahran Techno Valley Company; the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology; the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council (IBC); the MIT Presidential CEO Advisory Board; and the JP Morgan International Council. He is also a longtime member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and has served on SPE’s Industry Advisory Council since 2008. In 2015, he received the SPE's Charles F. Rand Memorial Gold Medal award for distinguished achievement in mining administration, including metallurgy and petroleum. Eng. Nasser holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran.

Mr. Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani was appointed senior vice president Upstream Operations of Saudi Arabian Oil Company in December 2015, effective January 1, 2016. Mr. Al Qahtani's responsibilities include exploration, petroleum engineering, oil and gas production and processing activities. Prior to this, he was vice president of Corporate Planning responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s short- and long-term strategic planning. Mr. Al Qahtani is chairman of Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company (SASREF) and previously chaired the board of directors for Aramco Services Company, a fully owned subsidiary in Houston, Texas. He was chairman of the Executive Advisory Committee and secretary of the Management Committee and Corporate Center Committee. Previously, he served on the boards of directors for LUKOIL Saudi Arabia Energy Ltd. (LUKSAR); the Saudi Council of Engineers; the Arabian Geophysical & Surveying Company Ltd., and the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. Mr. Al Qahtani holds a bachelor’s of science degree in petroleum engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He earned a master’s of science and Ph.D. degrees in petroleum engineering at the University of Southern California in 1992 and 1996, respectively. He completed several leadership and management development programs, including the IMD Program for Executive Development, Lausanne, Switzerland; Saudi Aramco Management Development Seminar, Washington, D.C.; Economics of Oil Seminar, London; Program for Leadership Development, Bahrain; and the Oxford Energy Seminar, London.
