Biographies

Name Description

Walter Qvam

Mr. Walter Qvam has been Independent Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since May 11, 2016. He has been Independent Director since December 31, 2015. Previously, he was Member of the Board at the Company from November 21, 2013 until December 31, 2015. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Kongsberg Group ASA until June 6, 2016. He has previously held leading positions in various prominent Norwegian and international businesses in a variety of fields, including oil & gas, shipping (DNV - Det Norske Veritas), IT (Capgemini), transportation (the Norwegian State Railway) and consultancy (Gemini Consulting). Mr. Qvam graduated Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (1979), and has also studied at INSEAD in Singapore (1985). He is Chairperson of the Council of Det Norske Veritas, Chairperson of the Board in the research organization SINTEF and DigitalNorway AS.

Rune Pedersen

Mr. Rune Olav Pedersen has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA, effective as of September 1, 2017. He has previously been Executive Vice President and General Counsel at the Company. Mr. Pedersen joined PGS in October 2010 as General Counsel. In September 2014 he also became responsible for Group Communication, Strategic Customer Relations and Marketing, and his responsibilities were further expanded in September 2015 to include Corporate Development. Prior to joining PGS, Mr. Pedersen was, for more than four years, a partner in the law firm Arntzen de Besche and previous to that Lawyer and Associate in the same firm. He started his career as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oslo, and has also served as a Deputy Judge in a District Court of Norway. Mr. Pedersen is a non-executive Director of Azimuth Ltd, and deputy non-executive Director of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Mutual War Risk Insurance Association. Mr. Pedersen earned his Law Degree from the University of Oslo, and enhanced his expertise within European competition law with a post graduate diploma from Kings College London. In 2014 Mr. Pedersen earned an Executive MBA from London Business School.

Daniel Piette

Mr. Daniel J. (Dan) Piette has served as Independent Vice Chairman of the Board of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since 2016. He has been Independent Director of the Company since 2007. He also serves as Member of the Company's Audit Committee. He also serves as Board Member of Headwave, Inc, and serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Geological Engineering and of Bike Houston. Mr. Piette acts as an advisor to Blueware. Until January of 2013, Mr. Piette was the President, CEO, and Chairman of TerraSpark Geoscienses, Inc. He was also President, CEO and Board Member of Object Reservoir. Before that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of OpenSpirit Corporation from 2003 to 2011. His other executive positions within the Oil and Gas industry include Business Unit Manager for Land Acquisition Systems Group at Input/Output, President and CEO of Bell Geospace, and Vice President and General Manager of the Asia Pacific region for Landmark Graphics. Mr. Piette holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Mining Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison (1980).

Gottfred Langseth

Mr. Gottfred Langseth has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since January 1, 2004. He joined the Company in November 2003. He was Chief Financial Officer of the information technology company Ementor ASA from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Langseth was Senior Vice President of Finance and Control at the offshore engineering and construction company Aker Maritime ASA from 1997 to 2000. He worked at Arthur Andersen Norway from 1991 to 1997. Mr. Langseth was certified as Norwegian state-authorized public accountant in 1993 and holds Master of Business Administration degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.

Per Reksnes

Mr. Per Arild Reksnes has served as Executive Vice President, Operations & Technology at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (PGS) since January 1, 2018. He has previously been Executive Vice President, Operations since 2014. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in April 2010, initially to run PGS’ New Ventures business area then responsible for Marine Contract and subsequently Operations. From 2007–2010, he was PGS Marine’s President, EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) and CIS. His job titles at PGS have included President for Geoscience and Engineering, President for Technology, Vice President for Profiling and Marketing, and Vice President, Technical Marketing. Per Arild Reksnes joined PGS in 2001 from his position as Chief Professional Geophysics at Norsk Hydro. During his 16 years at Norsk Hydro, he held several geophysics and management positions. Mr. Reksnes holds a Master's degree in Applied Geophysics from the University of Oslo and a Master's degree in Technology Management from MIT/NTH (Norwegian University of Science and Technology).

Sverre Strandenes

Mr. Sverre Strandenes has served as Executive Vice President, Sales & Services at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since January 1, 2018. He has previously been Executive Vice President, MultiClient since May 1, 2010. Previously, he was Group President for Data Processing and Technology at the Company from November 2006. He also held several senior PGS management positions, including President, Marine Geophysical EAME Region (Europe, Africa, and Middle East). Prior to joining PGS in 1995, Mr. Strandenes was the Geosciences department manager at Norsk Hydro Research Center. During his 14 years at Norsk Hydro he held several geophysics and management positions. Mr. Strandenes is Board Member of Azimuth Ltd, Azimuth II Ltd and Azimuth III Ltd, as well as Chairman of the Board of Norsar. Mr. Sverre Strandenes was awarded a Master of Science degree (Cand. Real) from the University of Bergen in 1981.

Mr. Morten Borge has been Director at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since May 13, 2015. He has been appointed CEO of Ferd effective as of August 1, 2017. He is also Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee Member at the Company. He has previously been Investment Director & co-head of Ferd Capital, where he has been responsible for the overall concept and execution of strategy. He was also CFO in Interwell AS and held various positions within the audit company PwC. He currently serves as Board Member for Aibel AS and Interwell AS. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Finance from the Norwegian School of Management where he also qualified as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Espen Grimstad has been Director, Employee Representative of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since April 23, 2015. Espen Grimstad is Senior Navigation Supervisor in PGS and has worked for PGS since 2001. He is also Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee Member at the Company. After 10 years offshore, working with navigation, he joined Operations Technical Support at PGS headquarters. Mr. Grimstad holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geomatics from the Norwegian University of Life Science at As and the University of Glasgow. In addition to his board membership, he is the employee representative of PGS Tekna.

Hege Renshus

Ms. Hege Renshus has been Director, Employee Representative at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since 2017. She is Member of the Audit Committee. Ms. Renshus is Senior Navigation Specialist in PGS. She joined PGS in 1995, initially working offshore as a seismic navigator and subsequently in Oslo office, in various technical and management positions within operations. Ms. Renshus holds a M.Sc. in Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Anette Valbo

Ms. Anette Valbo has been Director, Employee Representative at Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since April 23, 2015. Anette Valbo joined PGS in 2002. She is Member of the Company Audit Committee. Her current position is Bid Manager, Operations & Technology. She has previously held various Business Controller positions within Marine Contract and Operations business area. Prior joining PGS, Ms. Valbo served in various positions within auditing and accounting in Frontline Ltd and DNB. Anette Valbo holds a bachelor degree in accounting and auditing from Molde University College, Norway.

Anne Dalane

Ms. Anne Grethe Dalane has been Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since December 31, 2015. Previously, she was Member of the Board of Directors at the Company from November 21, 2013 until December 31, 2015. She is Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the Company. She is senior executive at Yara International and previously held a number of senior positions at Norsk Hydro. She is currently Chief Financial Officer Crop Nutrition at Yara International. Her previous experience covers a range of fields including HR as well as oil and gas. She has been Region Director Latin America and Country Manager of Argentina. Ms. Dalane's background is in economics and she holds a business degree from the Norwegian School of Economics NHH.

Richard Herbert

Mr. Richard Herbert has been Independent Director of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA since May 10, 2017. He is also Member of the Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Herbert is a petroleum geologist who has worked in the global upstream industry for more than 36 years. He is currently employed as an independent advisor. He started his career with Phillips Petroleum and then spent 19 years with BP working on international exploration and development projects with senior positions in Thailand, Mexico, USA, Colombia, and Angola as well as the UK North Sea. From 2003-2008 he worked for TNK-BP in Russia, first as Exploration Vice-President and subsequently as Executive Vice President of Technology. He then joined Talisman Energy in Calgary, Canada as Exploration Vice President before returning to BP in 2013 to join the upstream executive team as Chief Operating Officer, Exploration. Richard Herbert retired from BP at the end of 2016. He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Bristol in the UK.
