Name Description

Marjorie Magner

Ms. Marjorie Magner is Chairman of the Board of the Company. She was named the Chairman of TEGNA in October 2011 and is the Managing Partner of Brysam Global Partners, a private equity firm investing in financial services firms with a focus on consumer opportunities in emerging markets that was founded in January 2007. She was Chairman and CEO of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group from 2003 to 2005. She served in various roles at Citigroup, and a predecessor company, CitiFinancial (previously Commercial Credit), since 1987. Ms. Magner currently serves as a director of Accenture Ltd. and Ally Financial Inc. Ms. Magner has financial expertise, extensive management, leadership and global operating experience in retail banking, consumer finance and credit cards, and in executing strategic transactions in the consumer finance industry as a result of the various senior leadership positions she has held with Citigroup and CitiFinancial. She has served as a TEGNA director since 2006.

David Lougee

Mr. David T. Lougee is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. Prior to becoming CEO, Lougee spent 10 years as president of TEGNA Media. During that time, the company acquired Belo Corp. and London Broadcasting, nearly doubling its Broadcast portfolio. Prior to joining TEGNA, Lougee served as executive vice president, media operations for Belo. He also served as senior vice president and president and general manager of TV and cable operations in Seattle/Tacoma. Earlier in his career, Lougee was vice president, news at WRC, the NBC owned and operated station in Washington, DC and vice president, news director at TEGNA’s KUSA in Denver. Lougee also serves as joint board chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and chairman of the NBC Affiliates Board. He is also on the Board of Directors for BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.), the Broadcasters Foundation of America and is a past chair of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) Board of Directors. Lougee is a graduate of the University of Colorado and attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004.

Victoria Harker

Ms. Victoria D. Harker is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of the Company. She was named chief financial officer at Gannett in July of 2012. Victoria is responsible for all of TEGNA’s financial functions and operations. Before joining AES, Victoria was Acting CFO and Treasurer of MCI from November 2002 through January 2006, and served as CFO of MCI Group from 1998 to 2002. Victoria also held several positions at MCI within the consumer and small business divisions in finance, information technology, and operations between 1990 and 1998. In addition, Victoria serves on the Finance and Compensation Committees of the Board of Directors of Huntington Ingalls Industries, the $7 billion builder of ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. She also serves as Chair of the Audit Committee as well as a member of the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors of Xylem, Inc. (formally ITT), a $4 billion global water infrastructure company. She previously served from 2009 through 2014 on the Finance and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors of Darden Restaurants, Inc., the $12 billion parent of the Capital Grille, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Seasons 52, Long Horn, and Bahama Breeze casual dining restaurants, where she was Chairman of the Audit Committee. In July 2012, Victoria was appointed to the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors, where she chairs the Finance Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee as well as the Special Committee on Governance, and the Committee on the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She also previously served as the Chairman of the University of Virginia’s Alumni Association Board of Managers.

Jeffery Newman

Mr. Jeffery Newman serves as Chief Human Resource Officer, Senior Vice President of the Company. Jeff Newman was named senior vice president and chief human resources officer for TEGNA Inc. in April 2017. He joined the company in 2013 as vice president of total rewards and HR services. Prior to joining TEGNA, Newman worked in the financial services sector for over 15 years. He was the head of the compensation and benefits for the North American Operations of HSBC. At HSBC, he was also responsible for leading human resources functions for Mergers and Acquisition. Newman has held similar leadership positions at GE and CapitalOne. Newman is a graduate of Towson State University with a degree in Business and a minor in Mathematics. He is an active member of several HR professional associations, including presenting at national conferences and serving on advisory boards.

Todd Mayman

Mr. Todd A. Mayman is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer of the Company. Mayman advises TEGNA’s senior management team and Board of Directors and is responsible for TEGNA’s legal matters. He also serves as a director of the TEGNA Foundation. Prior to joining Gannett in 1993, Mayman was an associate at the law firm of Arent Fox and served as a law clerk at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. He received a B.A. with Honors from Swarthmore College and a J.D. magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law.

Lynn Beall

Ms. Lynn Beall serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Media Operations of the Company. Beall serves on the CBS Television Network Affiliates Association Board. Prior to her move to the Washington, DC area, she was an active member in the St. Louis community. She served as a board member or advisor for organizations like the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the St. Louis affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Urban League and the St. Louis Sports Commission Board. Beall holds a degree in journalism from the University of Kansas, a certificate in sales management from the TeleRep Taft Broadcasting sales and management training program and a certificate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in the Executive Program in Strategy and Organization. Over the course of her career, Beall has held a variety of station leadership positions across TEGNA. Prior to her corporate role, she was president and general manager of KSDK in St. Louis, MO from 1998-2014. She was named senior vice president in 2001 and executive vice president in 2006. Prior to joining KSDK, she was director of marketing and programming at KPNX in Phoenix, AZ; national sales manager at WUSA; and worked in news production in her home state of Kansas. During her time in the field, Beall was named as the company’s Manager of the Year twice.

W. Edmond Busby

Mr. W. Edmond Busby serves as Senior Vice President - Strategy of the Company. He joined the company in December 2015 and is responsible for driving existing strategic initiatives and identifying new growth opportunities for TEGNA. Prior to TEGNA, Busby served as both an independent advisor and as a Partner in The Boston Consulting Group’s Media Practice where he served a broad array of media companies and private equity firms investing in the media sector. He also served as the chief commerce officer for Softcard, the carrier-led mobile wallet that was sold to Google in 2015. Busby is an active angel investor and has funded start-ups in the Hispanic media, fin tech, and local ad services sectors. He has also served as an adjunct professor of mobile marketing at Columbia Business School. Busby is a graduate of The George Washington University and holds an MBA in Finance and Media from Columbia Business School.

Anne Bentley

Ms. Anne Bentley serves as Vice President, Chief Communications Officer of the Company. She is responsible for leading the company’s external and internal communications strategy. Before joining TEGNA, Bentley was vice president of corporate communications at PBS, the nation’s largest non-commercial media organization with more than 350 member stations. In this position, she served as the lead communications officer with responsibility for the organization’s communication strategy and positioning. During her tenure at PBS, which began in 2010, Anne was instrumental in enhancing the organization’s visibility in the media landscape. In addition to serving as PBS’ chief spokesperson, she oversaw all aspects of the development and implementation of corporate communications strategy, including corporate positioning and reputation management, media relations, PBS KIDS and General Audience (TV, Web, mobile) publicity, social media, employee, executive and system communications and events. Prior to joining PBS, Anne worked for more than a decade at AOL and, most recently, served as senior vice president, corporate communications, developing communications strategies and advising senior executives during AOL’s transformation from a subscription-based business to a global Web-services company. Anne received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Richmond.

Adam Ostrow

Mr. Adam Ostrow is Chief Digital Officer of the Company. Ostrow had been with Mashable since 2007 and was the company's second employee. He was closely involved in virtually all aspects of developing and growing the brand. He most recently served as chief strategy officer and board member, spearheading new growth initiatives across the company including international expansion, e-commerce and creating the Mashable Studios division. He was also responsible for all strategic business development efforts, including content acquisition, distribution and licensing deals with media companies, social networks and OTT platforms. Ostrow joined the company as editor in chief, leading the company's editorial and social strategy while overseeing the newsroom and growing its audience more than tenfold. He also authored more than 2,500 articles and managed Mashable's social media feeds. Ostrow is a highly sought-after speaker and has spoken at Cannes Lions, SXSW Interactive, International CES and TED Global. His TED Talk, "After Your Final Status Update," has been viewed more than one million times. Ostrow has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland. He is currently a member of the University's Merrill College of Journalism's Board of Visitors.

Melinda Witmer

Ms. Melinda C. Witmer is Director of the Company. Witmer joined Time Warner Cable (TWC) in 2001 and served in several executive roles including head of content, chief operating officer for Time Warner Cable Networks and executive vice president and chief video officer. During her time at TWC, Witmer was responsible for all content acquisition, development and distribution and oversaw content offerings across platforms. Prior to joining TWC, Witmer was vice president and senior counsel at Home Box Office (HBO) and negotiated complex agreements with all major studios and other film providers. Witmer holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Arizona and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Howard Elias

Mr. Howard D. Elias is Independent Director of Gannett Co Inc. He is President, Dell EMC Services and IT, a position he has held since September 2016. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Global Enterprise Services from January 2013 to September 2016 and was President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services from September 2009 to January 2013. From October 2015 through September 2016, Mr. Elias was also responsible for leading the development of EMC Corporation’s integration plans in connection with its transaction with Dell Inc. Previously, Mr. Elias served as President, EMC Global Services and Resource Management Software Group; and Executive Vice President, EMC Corporation from September 2007 to September 2009; and Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Corporate Development, at EMC Corporation from October 2003 to September 2007. Mr. Elias has extensive management, leadership and operational expertise in cloud computing, supply chain, marketing, corporate development and managing global customer support and other service organizations, and broad global business experience in information technology and management as a result of the various senior leadership positions he has held with Dell, EMC, Hewlett-Packard Company, Compaq, Digital Equipment Corp., AST Research and Tandy Corporation. He has served as a TEGNA director since 2008.

Lidia Fonseca

Ms. Lidia L. Fonseca is Independent Director of the Company. She is Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Quest Diagnostics, a position she has held since April 2014. Previously, she served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) from 2008 to 2013. Ms. Fonseca has extensive expertise in data analytics, automation, building outstanding client experiences, overseeing strategic transformations, and leading strategic information technology operations as a result of the various senior leadership positions she has held in supply chain management and information technology with Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, Synarc Inc. and Philips Healthcare. She has served as a TEGNA director since 2014.

Scott McCune

Mr. Scott K. McCune is Independent Director of the Company. He is the founder of McCune Sports & Entertainment Ventures, a firm focused on creating new business value for brands, rights holders, countries and start-ups. Prior to his retirement in March 2014, Mr. McCune spent 20 years at The Coca-Cola Company serving in a variety of roles, including Vice President, Global Partnerships and Experiential Marketing from 2012 to 2014; Vice President, Integrated Marketing from 2005 to 2011; Vice President, Worldwide Sports & Entertainment Marketing and Vice President, Worldwide Media from 2002 to 2004. He also spent 10 years at Anheuser-Busch Inc. where he held a variety of positions in marketing and media. Mr. McCune has extensive expertise in all aspects of consumer marketing as a result of the various senior leadership roles that he has held with The Coca Cola Company and Anheuser-Busch Inc. These include media, advertising, digital, licensing, partnerships, sports & entertainment marketing and leading global marketing teams. He has served as a TEGNA director since 2008.

Henry McGee

Mr. Henry W. McGee is Independent Director of the Company. He has been a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School since July 2013. Previously, he served as a consultant to HBO Home Entertainment from April 2013 to August 2013 after serving as President of HBO Home Entertainment from 1995 until his retirement in March 2013. Mr. McGee held the position of Senior Vice President, Programming, HBO Video, from 1988 to 1995 and prior to that, Mr. McGee served in leadership positions in various divisions of HBO. Mr. McGee is also a former President of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Foundation and the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Mr. McGee has significant business, leadership and management experience, operational, marketing and wholesale distribution expertise and a deep understanding of the use of technology and all aspects of wholesale distribution and international markets as a result of his various senior leadership roles with HBO. Mr. McGee currently serves as a director of AmerisourceBergen Corporation and previously served on the boards of the Sundance Institute, the Public Theater, Save the Children and the Time Warner Foundation. He has served as a TEGNA director since 2015.

Susan Ness

Ms. Susan Ness is Independent Director of the Company. She is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at John Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a principal of Susan Ness Strategies, a communications policy consulting firm, which she founded in 2002. She is also an Affiliated Expert of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) and a member of the Board of Advisors of the European Institute. She served as a commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission from 1994 to 2001. From 2005 to 2007, she was the founding president and CEO of GreenStone Media, LLC, which produced talk programming targeting female audiences for syndication on radio and other platforms. She has served on the Board of Vital Voices Global Partnership since 2011, and from 2011 to 2014 she served on the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (Vice Chair in 2012 and 2013). Ms. Ness previously served on the board of LCC International, Inc. from 2001 to 2008, and on the post-bankruptcy board of Adelphia Communications Corp. from 2003 to 2007. Ms. Ness has extensive experience and expertise in global and domestic communications policy, particularly with respect to spectrum matters, facilitating the deployment of new communications technologies, and advising communications companies from her service as an FCC commissioner, as principal executive at GreenStone Media, LLC and Susan Ness Strategies, and as a Senior Fellow at the SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations of Johns Hopkins University. She has served as a TEGNA director since 2011.

Bruce Nolop

Mr. Bruce P. Nolop is Independent Director of the Company. He is retired in 2011 from E*Trade Financial Corporation, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from September 2008 through 2010. Mr. Nolop was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pitney Bowes Inc. from 2000 to 2008 and Managing Director of Wasserstein Perella & Co. from 1993 to 2000. Previously, he held positions with Goldman, Sachs & Co., Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Nolop has significant experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, internal financial controls and strategic transactions, acquired through executive-level finance positions held in public companies and 18 years’ experience as an investment banker. Mr. Nolop is also a director of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., On Deck Capital, Inc. and privately-held CLS Group. He has served as a TEGNA director since April 2015.

Neal Shapiro

Mr. Neal Shapiro is Independent Director of the Company since October 23, 2007. He is President and CEO of the public television company WNET which operates three public television stations in the largest market in the country: Thirteen/WNET, WLIW and NJTV. Before joining WNET in February 2007, Mr. Shapiro served in various executive capacities with the National Broadcasting Company beginning in 1993 and was president of NBC News from May 2001 to September 2005. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), the Institute for Non-profit News (INN) and ChildObesity180, and the Board of Trustees at Tufts University.
