Shares in Brazilian healthcare insurance broker Qualicorp SA were up 22% in mid-morning trading in Sao Paulo after hospital chain Rede D'Or acquired a 10% stake in the company from founder Jose Seripieri Junior.
Jose Seripieri Filho, a shareholder and founder of Brazilian healthcare insurer Qualicorp SA, has pledged to acquire at least 150 million reais ($39.1 million) worth of the company's shares, the firm said late Sunday night.
Shares in Brazilian healthcare insurer Qualicorp SA plunged 22 percent on Monday after the company said it had agreed to pay its founder and biggest shareholder 150 million reais ($37.22 million) in return for a pledge not to sell his shares or compete with it.
