UPDATE 1-A U.S.-China trade deal would help lift "dark cloud" over oil, says OPEC

OPEC's secretary general said on Wednesday a trade deal between the United States and China would boost the global economy and would help lift a "dark cloud" over the oil market. Mohammad Barkindo also said it was premature to discuss the outcome of talks in Vienna in December when the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, an alliance known as OPEC+, are expected to discuss production policy.

Growth in global oil demand to slow from 2025: IEA

Growth in global oil demand is expected to slow from 2025 as fuel efficiency improves and the use of electric vehicles increases, but consumption is unlikely to peak in the next two decades, the International Energy Agency said on Wednesday.
