Apple is venturing into Samsung's territory. The iPhone maker is planning to open its first retail store in South Korea, home to its smartphone archrival. Apple listed 15 jobs on its website, including openings for a store leader and business manager. It confirmed the plans for its new store in a statement, but declined to comment on exact location or the opening date. Max Wolff of 55 Capital: (SOUNDBITE) MAX WOLFF, MARKET STRATEGIST, 55 CAPITAL, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "Apple is opening a store at the backyard of their largest rival, which is a national champion in South Korea, and a big contributor to GDP and the national pride. And it also is a little bit of a tense moment becasue we've seen recent trouble in a flagship, large format phone from Samsung, the Note 7, which had a fire problem, was recalled and had another fire problem, so it's a store moment." South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported construction for the new Apple store is underway in a southern part of Seoul, and that the work will likely be completed by end-November.
