For the fans, it's the ultimate in high octane motorsports. Yet these drivers aren't at the wheel of rally cars, but lawnmowers.... For a tweleve-hour endurance race with a difference: (SOUNDBITE) (English) PREVIOUS RACE WINNER, ANDY ROSTRON, SAYING: "This track will find out any weak points on a mower . No doubt about it. It's very soft in places. It's sapping the engine power." Held in a hamlet in southern England, 51 three-driver teams compete on the challenging circuit. The winning team completed an extraordinary 363 laps. The lawnmowers can reach speeds approaching 50 mph. The idea was born out of a meeting of motor-sport fans in a pub in 1973 who wanted to create an inexpensive pastime. But the rules are strict -- teams are forbidden from accepting sponsorship or modifying engines.
