MEN'S PODIUM STORY: Aruba's Sarah-Quita Offringa won for the third consecutive event at the Windsurfing Slalom World Championship in Denmark on Thursday (September 14) to secure the 2017 world title. Offringa had to survive a huge scare when Delphine Cousin Questel of France got the chance to take over the lead. But Questel was not able to deliver her best windsurfing during the last race of the event and had to settle for the second place. Another French woman Marion Mortefon completed the podium. The men's event went down to a battle between France's Antoine Albeau and current world champion Matteo Iachino of Italy. Iachino took the lead during the first days of the competition but Albeau fought back successfully and reached top form with the stronger winds. Even though Iachino managed to get really close again on the last day of the contest he could not snatch away the win in the end. Ross Williams of Britain finished in third position.
