LEE HEE-BEOM HOLDING FLAME STORY: South Korea received the Olympic torch in a handover ceremony in Athens on Tuesday (October 31) for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games. The torch was lit at the birthplace of the Olympic Games, which begins a relay that will conclude at the Winter Games on February 9. President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos handed Lee Hee-beom, president and CEO of the Pyeongchang Organising Committee for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, the torch in a colourful ceremony reflecting both Greek and South Korean culture. The torch relay will now head to South Korea where it will visit 17 cities and provinces.
