SHOWS: DUBLIN, IRELAND (OCTOBER 31, 2017) (REUTERS - ACCESS ALL) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UFC LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION, CONOR MCGREGOR, SAYING: "You know, I just dream of hitting that 'billy' mark, if I'm being honest. I'm cruising towards the billion-dollar mark, and that's ... right now, what's next for me is in June to July of next year, will be the next Forbes 100 list, the highest-paid athletes list. (Cristiano) Ronaldo was number one last year, I was number 24 I believe, with 34 million in revenue. Next year, if it stands as is, Floyd (Mayweather) will be number one, I'll be number two and Ronaldo will be number three. If I fight one or two more times I will overtake him, so that's what I am looking to get, right, that's what my goal is right now. Number one highest-paid athlete Forbes 2018 and then make my way towards the billion dollar mark and then continue to go." STORY: Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor is aiming to unseat soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and become the highest-earning athlete in sports by 2018. Speaking to Reuters in conjunction with the premiere of "Notorious", a documentary which charts his rise from penniless plumber to the face of the UFC, the UFC lightweight champion said that fame hadn't changed him and that he was very proud of his team and their achievements. A huge crowd gathered outside the Savoy cinema in downtown Dublin where the premiere took place, with hometown favourite McGregor stopping to take dozens of pictures and sign autographs for local fans. The movie will be shown in selected theatres in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the U.S. and Australia from November 1.
